Chloe is a Mixed Media Artist. Her work is deeply connected with the beauty of the natural world and ranges from large scale paintings, mixed media work, sculptures, collages, and drawing. Farrant’s imaginative world wavers in and out of focus as visitors hurry past or stop for a moment and she portrays a sense of time and movement in her work.
ARTISTS STATEMENT
Time passes mindlessly in childhood, but as we grow and we recognise the preciousness of each moment shared, we loose clarity in pulling fragments together – and the realms of memory and imagination become blurred.
Following each lived experience our memories are fragmented and stored, some details remain intact and others become distorted through the passage of time. My process aims to capture the human desire to retain significant and profound memories using a mixture of observational and imagined processes.
I work in a mixed media approach: I am interested working with the vulnerability of material and exploring translucent colour, layered pencil and line.
